FAQ
How efficient is the free WLAN in the Kongress Palais?
The free WiFi service at the Kongress Palais is designed to ensure that all visitors and event participants who use it have the same average speed on their devices. So that everyone can benefit equally from the free WiFi and not just individuals with e.g. video streams reduce the speed for all other fellow travelers, the data volume is throttled after 200 MB per day has been used. 200 MB per day is more than most premium mobile phone contracts offer these days. Important: Please avoid streaming long videos. Please also switch off the automatic downloads on your end devices so that all users, including yourself, can benefit from the free WiFi offer at the KongressPalais. Thank you very much.
What to do if the free WiFi in the Kongress Palais is not working?
- Check your Wi-Fi settings to make sure that you are connected to the "FREE WLAN KONGRESS PALAIS" Wi-Fi network. Sometimes mobile devices connect briefly to the Wi-Fi, but then quickly switch back to the mobile network.
- Enter "Login.WLAN_FREE_WLAN_KONGRESS_PALAIS.de" in the address bar of your browser and log in using the "Connect" button.
- If this does not work either, please restart your end device and check whether the WLAN is really switched on and the flight mode is deactivated.
How secure is the free WLAN in the Kongress Palais?
The free WLAN offer at the Kongress Palais is a public WLAN network, as is familiar from WLAN offers in hotels or on Deutsche Bahn ICE trains, for example.
Our WLAN system has security technologies (e.g. client isolation, which prevents data access between devices in the WLAN) that make data transmission much more secure than in WLAN networks found in cafés or other public areas.
To ensure secure transmission, we recommend that you use the WLAN service in the Kongress Palais via a VPN connection or only visit websites with the addition "https://".
