What historical information is available about the Kassel Kongress Palais?
The history of the Kongress Palais begins in 1911, when the entrepreneur Sigmund Aschrott donated the Florapark to the city of Kassel and financed the construction of a town hall. Opened in 1914, it served as a relief hospital and shelter for the homeless during the Second World War. After the war, it developed into an important cultural center and temporarily served as a theater.
In the following decades, the building was extended and modernized several times - with new halls, a hotel and state-of-the-art event technology. In the 1990s, the building was renamed "Kongress Palais" in order to meet the increasing demand for conferences and congresses.
Today, the Kongress Palais combines tradition with innovation: sustainable technologies, green electricity, LED lighting and comprehensive digitalization characterize the event venue. It thus remains an important event venue that preserves its historical architecture and at the same time focuses on forward-looking event solutions.
